Ingredients

Method

  1. Arrange frozen chicken breasts in the Instant Pot base (trivet not needed); stack is fine as long as breasts aren't clumped together.

  2. Pour in water or broth and season with salt and pepper.

  3. Seal the lid and set valve to sealing. Select Manual/Pressure Cook at high pressure for 10 minutes. The pot will spend about 10 minutes reaching pressure before the countdown begins.

  4. Once the timer ends, let pressure drop naturally for 5–10 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure. Verify internal temperature reaches 165 °F.

  5. Serve whole, chop, or top with sauce.

Notes

Natural pressure release for 5–10 minutes before venting keeps breasts moist.

At 10 minutes high pressure, breasts typically reach 180 °F; 12 minutes ensures a higher safety margin if your pot runs cool.

Swap water or broth for pineapple juice, apple juice, or other liquids for subtle flavor variation.
